Taxation

We undertake to prepare the UK Income Tax Returns of UK resident landlords from the information supplied by the lettings agent, and by the client himself/herself. We rely upon the information being provided to us being complete, accurate and timely in its submission. We cannot be held responsible for the consequences of inaccurate, incomplete or late submission of data to us. We reserve the right to charge an additional fee where the information supplied is incomplete, inaccurate or late.

We are usually able to deal with the taxation affairs of most UK resident clients on a fixed fee basis similar to that available to non-residents. However, because of the complexity of the UK taxation legislation and because most UK resident landlords will have other sources of income, this is not always the case. For those with more complex tax affairs, we work on an hourly time-cost basis. Whatever basis is applicable, we require payment in advance of an amount equal to the amount shown in the scale of fees below. We will advise you in advance if we consider that our fixed fee basis is not appropriate.

Service Fee
Single landlord, single property £ 300 per year
Plus
Additional property, same landlord

£ 75 per year
Joint landlord £ 175 per year

Where our hourly chargeout rates are applicable they are set by reference to the complexity of the work, the seniority of the person undertaking it, and the level of responsibility required. The rates vary from time to time and are available upon request. All our fees are payable in advance.

The first fee is payable by the letting agent out of the next available rent or, if the landlord is paying the fee direct then immediately on demand. For subsequent years the fee is payable by March 31st preceding the end of the tax year for which a tax return is required.

Maintaining your records

If you would like us to maintain your accounting records and to supply you with a profit report each month our fee structure is as follows. For most landlords who submit complete and accurate information, on time each month the fee should be about £25 to £35 per property per month. This service is only available to landlords with five or more properties, and is only available to landlords who use our taxation service.

Users of this service are entitled to a substantial discount on our "additional property charge" in the taxation service scale of charges (above). Please contact us for details and a quotation.

All correspondence is to be conducted by email and you must undertake to deal with correspondence within 5 days.

We reserve the right to change our Terms & Conditions without notice.
